update

Thank you for praying for my dad. He just came out of surgery and the doctors said everything went well. Praise the Lord! Now we are continuing to pray for safe healing and recovery.

Praise and Prayers

Just wanted to ask you to be praying for my dad. Next Wednesday he is going in for bypass surgery. As some of you know, he has had a history of being in and out of the hospital with various heart conditions. After his last heart attack, the week before Father's day, his doctor told us there was nothing else he could do and dad would pretty much live the rest of his life like this. We were all very frustrated and knew there had to be something else that could be done. My sister, being the go getter that she is, took the initiative to contact a specialist affiliated with Columbia University in NYC, who happens to be Bill Clinton's cardiologist. She thought it was a shot in the dark, but worth it. Amazingly, he got back with her and wanted to see my dad right away. After meeting with my dad and looking over his records, he said he was a great candidate for open heart surgery and should have had it long ago. We didn't think it would happen this quickly, but are truly thankful our dad will be able to have a better quality of life after the surgery. We are very confident he will be in good hands, both with the doctors and the Lord, but being human, it's still pretty scary. Your prayers are greatly appreciated!!! Thanks so much!

Fun Weekend...

We finished out the month of September enjoying ourselves with friends and family. Friday was my Birthday.

I still can't believe how much can happen in a year. Last year on my Birthday we officially found out I was pregnant and told my family during the Birthday celebration. Abby is the first grandchild and now there will be another one on the way! My sister is pregnant:) Hey Tim, we're waiting on you now!!

(rob, esther gave me permission to use this photo)

Our good friends, Rachel and Grant, came down from VT to visit us. I think if Grant had his way they would have a baby now too ;) I have a bit more convincing to do with Rachel (at least for now)!

Every year my brother's town hosts an apple harvest festival with rides, craft fairs and the greasiest food you can find. We all went up there Saturday evening and enjoyed more family time. We stood in line for apple fritters (for tradition) and walked around looking for the most appetizing dinner. Rach and I had meat on a stick and I think Grant and Brian had some sort of fried chicken. Maybe next year we'll be adventurous and try the chili covered fritos, topped with cheese and sour cream, served in a Lays Frito bag. Yum, yum!! It's all for love Tim! Thanks for inviting us again, it was fun!!

Wahoo!

Abby rolled over for the first time yesterday. It was a pretty exciting moment since she has been so close as we have been anxiously watching her try. Of course we both missed it actually happen. I looked away for a moment and when I glanced back she was on her stomach. Oh well, she'll do it again!

Abigail's Baby Dedication

Today was another wonderful day we won't forget. Abby was dedicated to the Lord. Some people choose to baptize their babies, but we would like for Abby to remember and experience that on her own. As parents, we wanted to publicly make a commitment that we will raise our child in a home which is honoring and glorifying to our Lord. Today we agreed to be the parents God has commanded us to be according to the Bible. We know we can't force Abby to do anything, including follow Christ, but we are committed to praying for her and demonstrating through our actions, what that looks like and what a difference having God as the center of your life makes. We would love for you to join with us in praying for her as well as us. We know this isn't an easy task, but we are ready and willing to face the challenges that may arise in raising our daughter and trust the Lord through every step of the way.
Afterwards we had to celebrate, so we went out for a nice brunch. Unfortunately, Brian couldn't make it, but it was a great time with family. Abby enjoyed herself too:)

Everyone loving Abby.

A Day Out

Yesterday was a lot of fun for us. Grandma and Grandpa Henderson are visiting for the weekend, so they offered to babysit while we enjoyed a day excursion together. It started with a picnic by a pond in a state park. We then toured a beautiful castle and enjoyed some shopping. We had a blast going on a mini shopping spree for Abby. What a spoiled kid we have! It's so much fun to be parents:) After that we drove along the coast, saw what was left of the sunset and then went to dinner.
