bed update.
We are now on day two, night three with Abby in her new bed. So far, I have been very impressed with her using it. She has done really well staying in bed at night. I think because she's been up later than usual, but it's working, so I'll take it. Her first nap I had to stand there for awhile to let her know I was serious and it didn't take that long. Last night we were out to dinner celebrating Brian's promotion at work :) We are thankful!

Growing up so fast...
We were telling Abby she needed to get ready for bed and go night night, so she thought she would change Mr. Potato Head's diaper and brush his teeth. We got a good kick out of it.
Now that she has been climbing out of the crib, tonight will be the first official night in the toddler bed. We're not looking forward to it, but the crib is more of a hazard now than protection.

Abby feeling better
Abby had a rough night on Thursday. She had a fever that spiked pretty fast and had a seizure. Poor baby! It was pretty scary for us all. Yesterday she was still pretty sick. Praise God she is doing better now. We are thankful it was a minor seizure which only lasted about 20 seconds. Brian had them as a baby, so we knew it was something that could happen, but it's not something we wanted to experience. We are told they can happen unexpectedly and even without her fever being very high. Thanks to everyone who found out and were able to pray for us! Here is a pic of her in the ER waiting to be discharged and holding her bear from the ambulance ride.
Joey just happened to be at my parent's house when all this happened. He would have gone balistic when the EMS showed up. He loves his time with Grandma, Grandpa and Uncle Benny!

I just had to share this one cause it's cute :)

Marley and Me

The very first preview I saw for the movie "Marley and Me" had me hooked. I knew I wanted to see it just because I'm such a sucker for dogs and I have pretty much had one my whole life. Over Christmas I had mentioned it to my mom. She said she had two copies of the book and thought we could go see the movie after we finished reading it. I took it home and read it within two days. It made me laugh and cry. I could so relate.
Brian and I received Joseph as a Christmas gift from my parents and sister the first year we were married. We spent the first week we had him on a futon mattress on the living room floor so we could quickly take him out in the middle of the night.
Word leaked to my sister how much I wanted to see the movie and her generous heart couldn't resist sending me Fandango bucks. My mom insisted watching Abby so Brian and I could have a night out to go see it.
Although the book was far better, it was still fun to watch. We definitely had our share of laughs, but the one thing I was not prepared for was all the tears rolling down Brian's face at the end. Of course I expected myself to cry, (I'm a major sap every single time I watch "Homeward Bound"), but not Brian. Especially since he always gives me a hard time when I cry during movies. It really hit home for him and what his responsibilities will be like in about 10 more years when we possibly have more children who are just as attached (if not more) to our Joey as Abby is.
